🧑💻Builder of the month
Job: Web3 Developer
Specialization: I am more of a generalist who can learn any technology when required but I specialize in software architecture and have experience in Solidity, Python, JS/TS, Rust, and WebAssembly.
Nationality: I am originally from India
Location: I have been residing in the UAE for the past one and a half years. Thanks to the remote nature of my work, I find myself in a new country every month or two.
Hobbies: Outside of work, I indulge in traveling and exploring new cultures. My leisure time is often spent watching anime, reading manga, and occasionally creating memes.
My journey as a Web3 Developer began three years ago with the Ethereum India Fellowship 2.0 (EIF 2.0). Following the fellowship, my mentor recommended I join dOrg, leading me to become a part of this dynamic organization.
At dOrg, I've had the privilege to work on numerous interesting projects, including Badger Finance, Opolis, Coordinape, and Polywrap. These projects allowed me to delve into various fields of Web3, such as DeFi, governance, and infrastructure.
My role at Polywrap, in particular, offered me extensive opportunities to design and lead projects, fostering my growth as a developer and eventually earning me the tech lead badge at dOrg. My fascination with the ingenious designs behind Web3 protocols motivates me to continue pushing the boundaries in this field.
What would you like others to know about dOrg?
dOrg stands out as a truly decentralized organization in the Web3 space. Unlike many organizations that claim decentralization for marketing purposes, dOrg embodies this principle through its design and tokenomics.
The dOrg tokens, which are non-transferrable and devoid of financial incentive, ensure a decentralized governance structure that values contribution over ownership. This system encourages active participation and keeps the organization in the hands of its contributors. dOrg's commitment to its ethos as a developer collective, prioritizing the interests of developers, is evident in its operations and token design.
What is your typical day like?
Embracing the digital nomad lifestyle, my days vary significantly based on my location. My schedule is highly flexible, allowing me to adapt to different time zones to accommodate meetings with clients and colleagues. This flexibility is one of the aspects I cherish most about my job, enabling me to work from anywhere—be it home, cafes, co-working spaces, or even unconventional places like flights and beaches.
What has surprised you the most about working with dOrg?
The decentralized nature of dOrg was initially surprising to me. Having experienced a decentralized team culture during the Google Summer of Code program with the Python Software Foundation, I found dOrg's approach to decentralization and governance to be a step further. The organization not only promotes a flexible and remote team culture but also embraces a highly decentralized governance model.
