What would you like others to know about dOrg?
dOrg is a truly unique cooperative that not only focuses on building decentralized applications but also emphasizes the power of community and collaboration. It's inspiring to be part of an organization that operates transparently and prioritizes the collective success of its members. This community-driven approach ensures that everyone has a voice, and it’s amazing to see how each project benefits from such a diverse pool of talent and perspectives.
What is your typical day like?
A typical day for me is a balanced blend of decision taking and hands-on coding. I start my mornings early, often with a freshly brewed cup of coffee, which helps me gear up for the day ahead. While sipping my coffee, I review our ongoing projects and set clear priorities to ensure the team is aligned and focused.
Following this quiet start, In many projects I use to dive into a stand-up meeting with my team. This is where we sync up on our tasks, discuss any hurdles, and share quick updates. It’s crucial for keeping everyone on the same page and fostering a sense of community despite our diverse and often remote working locations.
Most of my day is then dedicated to coding and architectural design, where I actively contribute to our most critical projects. This hands-on involvement is essential as it helps me stay grounded in the actual work and leads by example. It also allows me to identify potential issues early and guide our development efforts effectively.
Between coding sessions, I make sure to take short breaks to refuel, often grabbing snacks or another drink. These breaks are a great time to reflect on progress or even have chats with the family, which I find invaluable for maintaining a relaxed yet productive atmosphere.
Staying updated with the latest technology is also a key part of my day. I dedicate time to research and learning, ensuring that the strategies and implementations leverage cutting-edge solutions that enhance our projects and drive innovation.
In all, my day is a fulfilling mix of coding, strategizing, and leading, with plenty of coffee to keep things moving smoothly.
What has surprised you the most about working with dOrg?
The most surprising aspect has been the incredible level of mutual support and encouragement within the community. Despite working remotely, I've never felt isolated. The responsiveness and willingness of everyone to help out, share knowledge, and push boundaries is something I hadn't experienced in traditional work settings. This environment not only enhances personal growth but also accelerates the collective progress of our projects.
A Bit More About Myself and My Experience as a dOrg Builder:
My journey with dOrg has been a pivotal chapter in my career, profoundly shaping my professional landscape. This experience has not only allowed me to harness my technical skills in impactful, real-world applications but has also positioned me at the forefront of decentralized governance—an area teeming with innovation and potential. Working on a diverse array of projects at dOrg has significantly expanded my expertise, enabling me to make substantial contributions to the blockchain ecosystem.
More than just a place of work, dOrg is a vibrant community where the ethos of mutual learning and knowledge sharing thrives. This culture has greatly enriched my professional path, equipping me with invaluable insights and fostering lasting friendships. The environment here encourages continuous personal and collective growth, making every day both challenging and rewarding.
From a very young age, technology has been a central part of my life. I began exploring the computer space when I was just 5 years old, formatting computers and installing Windows 3.11 for workgroups. My passion was further ignited by a coding book left in my grandfather's library before he passed away, which clarified my future path. By the age of 13, I was already coding professionally for an overseas video games company. After graduating as a systems engineer in Venezuela, I ventured into several entrepreneurial projects and worked in the IT Department at Plumrose/Oscar Mayer which helped me understand how top companies manage IT.
My interest in Bitcoin started in 2012 when it was priced around $100. The underlying technology captivated me, leading me to immerse myself in learning and exploring further. Over the past decade, I have had the opportunity to engage with many crypto and web3 projects, in roles ranging from frontend developer to CTO, tech lead, and co-founder.
Outside of dOrg, which I joined a few years ago, I have recently led the technology department of a healthcare tech company that aims to revolutionize how studies are conducted for verifying healthcare products, using real data from various wearable devices currently available in the market.
This unique blend of experiences has not only shaped my technical acumen but also my view on the transformative potential of technology in multiple sectors.
